MS. BAILEY'S LABORATORY PA7

OUR LABORATORY

You can find our lab on the Calabasas High School campus located in room PA7.  Biology and Physiology classes are conducted throughout the regular school day.  Students are welcome to visit Mrs. Diamond anytime during Support hours.

Support Hours are as follows:
T: 7:50 - 8:30 AM
W: 7:50 - 8:30 AM
F: 7:50 - 8:30 AM

For any other appointments, please contact Mrs. Diamond for scheduling and availability.

Mrs. Diamond maintains high expectations for herself and her students in order to create a motivational and supportive learning environment to help students reach learning goals.  Students who exceed expectations can receive positive phone calls home and invitations to end-of-unit lunch parties. Students who repeatedly fail to meet expectations can take advantage of the Refocus Area in the lab, participate in a Refocus Conversation with Mrs. Diamond to make a plan to restore relationships, catch up on incomplete work or avoid misbehavior.  The following are Mrs. Diamond’s basic expectations of every individual in her classroom:

  • Care for and defend our learning environment: follow lab safety rules, be kind and respectful to each other and Mrs. Diamond, clean and organize our environment, volunteer to help others who may be struggling, etc...

  • Come to class on time, prepared and ready to succeed everyday: complete any homework or readings to submit by the deadline, study and review before an assessment, avoid absences and tardies, stay focused during the lesson and encourage others to do the same.

  • Prepare for college and/or a career: embrace the challenge to grow your skills and talents, open your mind to new ideas, work hard to achieve goals, collaborate with fellow students, rely on reasoning to resolve conflicts, practice academic integrity and honesty,  and figure out what inspires you and what works best for you to be successful.

Go to the Expectations Page to learn more.

All students must review and sign the Lab Safety Rules within the Course Syllabus (Biology Syllabus or Physiology Syllabus) in order to participate in the laboratory.  This ensures the safety of every individual in the lab and the preservation of the lab and materials used throughout the different class periods and even, consecutive years of students.

For a list of our Lab Safety rules, please check the Lab Safety page.  All students are sent home with a copy of these rules to review with their parents and sign before being allowed to conduct experiments in the lab safely.
